Chairman Bill Thomas, R-Calif., to its federal government
relations team this Tuesday. Thomas, who chaired the powerful committee
for five years before retiring from Congress in 2006, returns to the
private sector after completing a visiting fellowship at the American
Enterprise Institute earlier this year. To help welcome Thomas to his
new position as senior adviser, swing by the Washington Court Hotel's
Atrium Ballroom at 525 New Jersey Ave., NW, at 6 p.m. for cocktails and
